5 Ways You Can Practice Self-Care Everyday

There’s a lot going on, a lot do to, a lot to accomplish and sometimes taking care of yourself feels like the very last thing you time for.

But here’s the truth, if you don’t take care of yourself you won’t be able to anything else so really, daily self-care is one of the most important things you can do.

It doesn’t need to be a facial, a daily workout with a personal trainer or an hour long bubble bath in a tub filled with rose petals. It can be, but it can also be something much simpler.

1. Pamper yourself

Take some time for yourself and do something every day that makes you feel happy. Maybe it’s a nice, hot bath at the end of the day where you get to unplug and take a deep, warming, calming breath in. Maybe it’s learning to practice meditation, or maybe it’s taking 1, 5 or 10 minutes to simply sit and be.

2. Get moving

Get moving. Get your blood flowing and your heart pumping–even something short can be effective. Bonus points if it gets you outside so you can breathe in some fresh air.

3. Eat Right

This is something you can do for yourself not once but many times every day. Eating right will mean something different to everyone. What we’re talking about here isn’t specific foods but rather eating foods that make you feel good.  This means foods that make you feel good when you’re eating AND long after you’re done.  Focus on foods that make you feel energized, alive and good about how you look. Every time you eat you have the chance to show yourself some love.

4. get enough sleep

5. Get outside

Get out of your head and get on with living your fab life. Don’t wait for “the right time” or for “when ___ (fill in the blank with whatever is keeping you from caring for yourself — when my kids grow up, when I finish this project at work, when I drop five pounds, etc)” to take good care of yourself. Start now. Your body loves you, love your body back.  You may be surprised to find how easy it is to treat yourself right, and how good you will feel by doing it.
