Making your own DIY salad dressing instead of buying it in a bottle doesn’t have to be a hefty to-do on your never ending list. Just shake or blend ingredients you’ll likely be able to find in your pantry, and then pour over your favorite salad.
For a creamy dressing, you can fast soak cashews in hot water for 20 minutes to soften them up for blending in any blender. Ingredients
- Classic Vinaigrette:
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 3/4 cups olive oil
- Optional: 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- Sweet and Tangy Dressing:
- 1/4 cup vinegar or citrus juice (lemon, lime, grapefruit or orange juice)
- 3/4 cups olive oil
- 1/4 cup agave or maple syrup
- Additions (as desired): shallots, herbs, Dijon mustard, garlic
- Creamy Blended Dressing:
- 1 cup cashews, soaked and drained
- 3/4 cup water
- 2-4 Tbsp vinegar or citrus juice (lemon, lime, grapefruit or orange juice)
- Salt, to taste
- Additions (as desired): shallots, herbs, Dijon mustard, garlic
Preparation
