DIY Skincare Recipes

We love a good skincare routine, and adding in a fun (and delicious) face mask every once in a while is a great way to take some time for yourself, and show your skin some love. Here are some face masks that are easy to make and incredibly nourishing.

1. Soothing Mask

Get some zen happening with this mix of coconut oil (to help strengthen cell walls), avocado (hydrating) and oatmeal (calming). Easy to blend together and will provide 10-20 minutes of pure relaxation.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil

Directions:

Add ingredients to a blender and blend. Let it sit on your face for 10 to 20 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water.

2. Banana Avocado Hydration Mask

If your skin needs hydration, this is the mask for you! Avocado, banana and jojoba oil make up the perfect combination for some serious nourishment and provide a solid addition to your skincare routine.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp avocado
  • 1 tbsp ripe banana
  • 1 tsp jojoba oil
  • 1 tsp lemon or orange juice

Directions:

Mash avocado and banana in a small bowl and stir in oil and juice. Once you have created a creamy paste. Apply to clean, dry skin for 15-20 minutes or until dry. Wash off with warm water and apply your favorite moisturizer.

3. After-Sun Face Mask

If you’ve overdone it in the sun this mask can help moisturize and soothe skin. Pumpkin is rich in vitamin A and zinc which can help to moisturize and soothe red skin.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup pumpkin puree (fresh or canned)
  • 1 banana
  • ¼ avocado
  • 1 kiwi

Directions:

Add ingredients to a blender and blend. Apply to clean, dry skin for 10-20 minutes and wash off with warm water.
