Easy Vegetable Sides: Maple Ginger Broccolini

This flavorful side dish that can be used alongside main dish or on a bed of brown rice with tofu as the main feature.

Ingredients

  • 227 grams (2 bunches) of broccolini
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Preparation

  1. Boil a pot of water with steamer basket.

  2. While water is boiling, in a small sauce pan sauté garlic and ginger on medium low heat, until golden.

  3. Add in soy sauce and maple syrup. Let simmer.

  4. Once water has boiled steam brocoolini for around 5 minutes or until tender.

  5. Strain broccoli, place in side dish and drizzle with maple syrup mixture.

  6. Garnish with sliced almonds.
