Basil isn’t just for pasta sauce, pizza or curry. We like to use Thai basil in this smoothie when we can find it at our local farmers market (the more purple leaves are a dead giveaway). Thai basil is bolder, with a slightly more anise flavor than traditional sweet Italian basil you may already have growing in your windowsill. Traditional basil will still, of course, be lovely!
Ingredients
- 1 serving French Vanilla Vega One™ Nutritional Shake
- or 1 serving Vanilla Vega® Protein & Greens
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries (if using fresh strawberries, add in a 1/2 cup of ice)
- 3 Thai basil leaves
- 1/4 ripe avocado
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup water
