Vegan Hot Chocolate, Apple Cider & Veg Nog

Vegan Hot Chocolate, Apple Cider & Veg Nog

The holiday season simply cannot start until you have a deliciously festive drink in your hands. Try whipping up these plant-based beverages to warm you up on those chilly winter evenings or to share with your loved ones while you celebrate.


  • Vegan Hot Chocolate :
  • 3 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ Tbsp coconut sugar (or to taste)
  • 2 chopped bars of Vega® Maca Chocolate
  • Hot Apple Cider :
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • ¼ cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • Zest of one orange, cut into strips
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 whole cloves
  • Cheesecloth and kitchen twine
  • Veg Nog :
  • 1 ripe frozen banana
  • 1 serving Vanilla Chai Vega One™ Nutritional Shake
  • 2 cups coconut milk (or non-dairy beverage of your choice)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg + 1 pinch for garnish


  • Vegan Hot Chocolate

    1. Add almond milk to a small sauce pot and bring to a simmer over low/medium heat
    2. Add in cocoa, cinnamon, vanilla extract and coconut sugar and stir until combined
    3. Remove the almond milk mixture from heat and whisk in the Vega Maca Chocolate until fully melted and combined
    4. Serve immediately
  • Hot Apple Cider

    1. Add all ingredients to a medium sauce pot
    2. Tie the cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange zest into a bundle using a square of cheese cloth and kitchen twine. Add bundle to the apple cider mixture.
    3. Bring the cider to a simmer over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes
    4. Remove the spice bundle from the pot, and serve immediately
  • Veg Nog

    1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until well combined. Pour into two glasses and top with a pinch of cinnamon.
