Can I give Vega® plant-based protein shakes to my children?

Q. Can I give Vega® plant-based protein shakes to my kids

We recommend speaking to your pediatrician first to determine if a particular Vega®  shake product, such as Vega One®, Vega® Protein & Greens, Vega®  Protein Smoothie, Vega®  Clean*  Protein *At Vega, clean means Non-GMO Project verified, gluten-free, vegan, and made without artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners., Vega®  Essentials, Vega Sport®  Protein, or Vega®  Protein Nutrition Shake, is right for your kids.  You and your doctor can learn more about all of our products on our website, www.myvega.com

You might wonder why we recommend that. Just like your kids or teens need different sized shoes than you, there’s no one-size-fits-all recommendation for nutrients, and kids have different nutrition needs based on their age.

However if we dive into more specific recommendations by the NIH and Institute of Medicine you’ll see there are more variances, mostly due to different total caloric needs, and nutritional requirements to support healthy growth and development for children:
