Stress is something most of us deal with on a day to day basis and can have a negative impact on our lives. Luckily there are ways to support that are not only cost efficient, but also easy to incorporate into your life. Check out our top 3 way to manage stress.

1. Essential oils

Essential oils are a quick and easy remedy and have been used for over 5,000 years in many cultures. They can be used almost anywhere, have been researched, and smell fantastic. There are also many ways to use essential oils so that you are covered no matter where you are. Diffusers are perfect for your home or office, and most scents also come in easy roll-on versions so that you can have this calming solution on hand whenever you need it.
Rosemary and lavender are ideal to help reduce stress. Some studies suggest that aroma therapy use of rosemary and lavender oil can help decrease some measurements of stress in the body when used for at least 5 minutes.

2. Kundalini yoga

Another practice that has been around for over 5,000 years is Kundalini yoga. Simply put, Kundalini yoga is a series of breath work, meditation, and physical poses used by many people to help with stress, anxiety, and overall wellness. In a recent study Garcia-Sesnich et al, (2017) concluded that Kundalini Yoga significantly reduced salivary cortisol levels, and perceived stress after three months of practice. This type of yoga is also extremely accessible (even if you’re not flexible or highly active), as it is performed mostly sitting and has a greater focus on the breath and getting into a meditative state.

3. Ancient Herbs and Botanicals

For thousands of years, ancient cultures and practices, such as Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, have promoted the belief that botanicals can help with stress. More recently, a category of these herbs traditionally considered to be adaptogens, have been trending in health and wellness. They are believed to work by increasing the state of non-specific resistance in the stress response and decrease sensitivity to stressors, which results in stress protection. Some studies suggest that some botanical compounds can help with focus during times of stress and fatigue, particularly during mental exhaustion.
