Q: “Hey, I’m two birds with one stone kind of guy. Can I mix Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator with Vega Sport Performance Protein after my workout?”
A: Great question—we’re all about efficiency here at Vega, too! Each product in the Vega Sport Nutrition System has been specifically formulated to help enhance performance with a focus on nutrient timing. If I’ve learned just one thing from our formulator, Brendan Brazier, it’s that when is just as important as what we eat. Ideally, within 20 minutes of your workout, you want a 4-to-1 carb-to-protein ratio which you’ll find in Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator.1 You want to save your higher protein meal or Vega Sport Performance Protein shake for 45 to 90 minutes after you finish your workout, when your body is craving protein to repair and rebuild. If you combine these two products and drink together immediately after your workout, you won’t have that ideal 4-to-1 carb-to-protein recovery ratio which is why it’s best to enjoy them separately.
