vega stevia

Ever wonder why we chose stevia as our sweetener of choice or how to effectively fuel your workout with the Vega Sport Nutrition System? Our Product Specialists Bridgette Leeson, RHN and Sarah Skalzub, RHN  will be tackling your toughest Vega questions in a new FAQ blog series. Have a question not yet answered? Email it to [email protected] and Bridgette or Sarah will hop right to it! They’ve got you covered…sometimes in chocolate (…kidding, just a little bit of Vega Bar humor).

Q: “I don’t like stevia. Will I like Vega?

A: Thanks for reaching out with your thoughts on stevia. Customer feedback fuels everything we do so thank you for taking the time to write in.

We choose stevia because we think it’s the best available no calorie sweetener.

But we know it’s not for everyone so based on feedback from Vega fans like you we’re happy to announce that we now offer Unsweetened Natural Flavored Vega One® , which is stevia-free. You can find this online only.  It’s also a great flavor to make more savory recipes, like these Savory Herb Gluten-Free Waffles.

If you love other flavors and other Vega products and want some help in muting some of that stevia taste, try blending it with dark leafy greens or avocado, or add a teaspoon of lemon juice when you shake or blend Vega One!

If you are particularly sensitive to the taste of stevia, some flavors of our smoothie products have less stevia than others. We recommend checking out:

Unsweetened Natural, Natural and French Vanilla Vega One™

Oh Natural and Viva Vanilla Vega® Protein Smoothie

Natural and Vanilla Vega® Protein & Greens

Vanilla Vega Sport® Protein

Stay sweet!
